I'm Aimee and I run The Helpful Homestead in beautiful Ashe County, NC.
I Started my journey into herbalism when my son was born. I couldn't fathom using products with ingredients that I couldn't pronounce on that fresh newborn skin. I also wanted to keep us all as healthy as possible and herbs seemed like the natural choice.
The Helpful Homestead aims to help families achieve their wellness goals with herbal and holistic options for the whole family! I offer a wide variety of elderberry products, extracts, salves, and many more products that make great natural swaps for things that families use every day. I specialize in items that are able to be used by children as well as pregnant and nursing moms. I even offer a pet safe line of products!
All products use the highest quality, organic and/or non-gmo ingredients. I frequently craft seasonal products with herbs that have been foraged from our land. I may occasionally have fruits and veggies from the garden as well as farm fresh eggs!

The Pretty Paws Cause
Marcia Pierce is a 21 year military veteran. Since 2004, after volunteering, for about 7 years and fostering over 450 cats & kittens, I needed a break but still wanted to contribute. I started making garden flowers from common household thrift store items. after much trial and error I found a perfect combination of construction, beauty, quality and value. After 4 years of selling and crafting I have made and sold almost 4000 pieces! I donate 20% of my profits to local county animal rescues.
During winter months I make dolls and donate them to the Crossnore Communities for Children.

Sweet Spring Farm
Sweet Spring Farm is a 75 acre farm located along the TN/NC line. We have been raising heirloom varieties of fruits, vegetables and herbs and plants using organic methods since 1980. Most of our produce and herbs are started each year from home saved seed. We raise chickens and turkeys without the use of antibiotics and on pasture for meat and eggs. We also offer shares in our Angus steers, which are bred, born and raised without steroids or antibiotics on pesticide free pasture. We sell our products at the Johnson County Farmers Market or by appointment at the farm.
